Living Hope Church Purpose Statement

SEVEN MINISTRY VALUES:
BIBLICAL AUTHORITY - Submitting to and relevantly communicating the timeless truths of Gods Word provides the foundation and defines the function of Living Hope Church. (2 Tim. 3:16-17; Titus 2; 2 Peter 1:2-4)
OUTREACH ORIENTED - Reaching out to the unsaved and un-churched both locally and globally in obedience to Gods command to: Go and make diciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8), details the primary ministry focus of Living Hope Church.
GODS POWER - Not depending on our abilities, but through prayer, relying on the ministry and power of the Spirit of God to bear spiritual fruit in our lives and through our ministry efforts. (John 14:16-17, 26; 16:12-15; Acts 1:8; Eph. 5:15-21)
AUTHENTIC FELLOWSHIP - We schedule times for relational small-group ministries for fellowship in the Word, in prayer, and in ministry to one another. ...the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by (every person) (Eph. 4:16; Acts 2:42-47)
ACTIVE SERVICE - Responding with the gifts, abilities and resources God has given to each one; we strive to serve faithfully and humbly in the body of Christ. ...by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body...(Eph. 4:17)
PASSIONATE WORSHIP - Loving God by repenting of personal sin and renewing our commitment to walk by faith according to Gods commands, promises, and life principles will ultimately bring glory to God. ...that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing him. (Colossians 1:10)
We are also committed to regularly attend and participate in the Biblical elements of corporate worship during the weekly services of Living Hope Church. These elements include: giving of tithes and offerings, prayer, singing, and careful attention to the reading and exhortation of Gods Word. (Heb. 10:24-25; Malachi 3:8-10; 1 Cor. 16:1-2, 2:1-8; Eph. 5:19-20; Heb. 13:15; 1 Tim. 4:13; 2 Tim. 3:16-4:4)
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE - In our relationships with one another we follow Gods command to imitate His kind of love by: ...walk(ing) in love as Christ has loved us and given Himself for us. (Eph. 4:25-5:2; Phil. 2:1-8) Questions? Ask Pastor Jay

I’ve Been Thinking!
Grab A Board! by Pastor Jay
We just enjoyed our first worship service among the Tobo believers here in the mountains of Papua New Guinea. It was an experience I will never forget! Jason and Nisae are tribal church planters sent out by Living Hope Church and serving with New Tribes Missions.
The service began at about 10:30 AM. Oh yeah, I almost forgot - there was no church building, no stained glass windows, no nursery, no restroom facilities, no PowerPoint, and no church pews! We met under a crude thatched-roof shelter with no walls and a damp dirt floor. Some sat around the edge of the shelter with large colorful umbrellas to shield themselves from the hot sun. Wanting to fit in (imagine that! My pale white skin, clean clothes, and camera in hand), I grabbed a small dirty board, tossed it on the ground and plopped down. For the next 2+ hours I sat on that dirty little board and saw the love for Jesus in the faces of the Tobo people as they sang their songs of praise in a language I could not understand. I saw their love for Jesus as they listened intensely to Gods Word and the exhortation from the Tobo teachers to walk by faith. I could not understand what was being taught or what they were reading from Genesis, but I was deeply touched by their hunger for Gods Word. Several, including Zango, the sole doctor in the Tobo tribe who runs a small clinic on a nearby hillside, challenged the believers to trust God and to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ alone for salvation and not to put their trust in good works...
